What guidelines should I follow when creating a new Access Code?
|
To improve the security of our Internet Banking, we have increased the length and format for the Access Code. The current Access Code consists of 5 numeric digits. The new Access Code must be 7 alpha-numeric characters and is case sensitive. At least one numeric and one alpha character must be used in the new Access Code. Non alpha-numeric characters (i.e. <, *, ?) are not accepted.
The following users will need to comply with the new rules:
- New users of cuanytime.com®
- Users that have their current 5 digit access codes reset by their credit union
- Current users who select to change their Access Code once signed into cuanytime.com®
If you do not meet the above criterion, you may continue to use your current 5 numeric digit code.
Note: If you are also a TeleService (Telephone Banking) user, please note that changing your Internet Banking access code will not change your Telephone Banking Access Code. TeleService will continue to use a 5 digit numeric code.

|
When a bill payment is made prior to 11:00 PM MST on any business day, the information will be forwarded to the creditor designated by you, effective the next following business day. Not all creditors accept electronic delivery of bill payments therefore appropriate lead time must be provided to ensure payment by the due date. A business day excludes a Saturday, Sunday or Alberta or national statutory holiday. Most creditors will update your account within 3 business days.

How secure is my Credit Union's Internet Banking?
|
|
Protecting the financial and personal information of our members is, and always has been, one of our most important commitments.
Our Internet Banking is designed to support a minimum of 128 bit encryption. Encryption scrambles information being transmitted between your PC and the Credit Union's computer system. When it arrives at our computer, it is decrypted, or decoded, so we can process your transaction.
Which type of encryption you have depends on the type of browser you use. The 40 bit encryption is the basic minimum standard, while 128 bit encryption is the most secure form of encryption in use today. Most browsers use the 40 bit encryption, but in order to access the new version of our Internet Banking you will need to have 128 bit encryption. To obtain more information on encryption please click here.
The new version of our Internet Banking also uses non-persistent cookies, which will enable us to manage your banking session in a more effective manner. This type of cookie stores information in memory, not on your computer’s hard drive, only while connected to the web site. To obtain more information on cookies please click here.
However, should you choose to download your account data to a Personal Financial Package, this transaction is written to your cache and must be deleted manually.
Our Internet Banking utilizes certificates as well. The certificate authenticates that the information contained in specific software is genuine and is being received from a trusted source. Certificates are dated when issued, thus when your browser receives information it verifies that the certificate is current and has not expired. If the information is not current or valid at the time of download, your browser will display a warning message.
Our Internet Banking web site is protected by Internet firewalls. This important security feature prevents unauthorized external access to the Credit Union's computer system through the use of hardware and software that separates the Internet from our internal computer systems and databases. This means that any Internet data flows through safety checks as it is transmitted to and from our internal systems so only authorized information (transactions) get through to our computer.
You also have an important role in maintaining the security of your financial and personal information when using it over the Internet. Maintaining the confidentiality of your password is key to keeping your information secure. You are responsible for:
- Selecting your access code and keeping it secure by not giving it to anyone else
- Not permitting anyone to watch you type in your access code
- Never leaving your computer unattended during a session, always logoff when you leave your terminal

I receive this message when accessing my Internet Banking, "In March, Internet Banking will require the use of 128 bit encryption. We have detected that your browser currently does not support this high level encryption. Click on the icon below for procedures to upgrade your browser. We recommend that you upgrade your browser now to ensure no future interruption in service. "
|
|
Effective March 2002, Internet Banking requires the use of 128 bit encryption in. 128 bit encryption provides high level security encryption for your Internet banking transactions. If your browser currently doesn't support 128 bit encryption, you will need to do the following:
Procedure to Configure Internet Explorer Browsers for 128 Bit Encryption
Internet Explorer:
128 bit encryption is included with the latest versions of Internet Explorer (IE), subsequently, it is best if older versions of IE are being utilized to upgrade to the latest browser version available to invoke this level of encryption as well as to take advantage of browser advancements. However, if you are concerned about the download time that will result from downloading a new version of IE, rather then doing so, you may prefer to download only a "High Encryption Pack" for your specific version of browser and operating system to enable 128 bit encryption.
To download the latest version of browser from Internet Explorer (IE 6), go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/ie6/default.asp.
To obtain the appropriate "High Encryption Pack" and procedures, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/128bit/default.asp
Procedure to Configure Netscape Browsers for 128 Bit Encryption
128 bit encryption is included with the latest version of Netscape.
To download the latest version of Netscape, please go to www.netscape.com.

My Internet Explorer browser used to remember my Account Number and access code each time I logged into Internet Banking. But now I have to enter both in each time, why?
|
|
To enhance the security of Internet Banking, we have implemented a feature that will automatically disable the account number and access code retention capabilities. This will ensure that if your PC is left unattended, no other party would be able to access your banking records with out first having knowledge of both your account number and access code.
This will not effect the passwords you may have saved for other websites. This security enhancement is strictly for this Internet Banking website.

I received the following message "Image is currently unavailable. Please try again later." when attempting to view my cheque online. Why is the cheque image unavailable?
|
|
There can be a delay in viewing your cheque online as a result of processing delays that can be caused by the following:
- If the cheque was made payable to an out - of - province payee, the image will not be available until 6:00pm on the business day following the date shown on the account history.
- Cheque images are only processed on business days; cheques are not imaged on statutory holidays and weekends. As a result, for example, a cheque that cleared on Friday cannot be viewed on your Internet Banking until the next business day.
